We had a great Easter. We’ve been avoiding church this winter and watching sermons at home from Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church to avoid putting Heidi in the nursery during flu season. We did go to church this Sunday, though. We took Heidi to the service with us, which she previously had not tolerated well at all. She was great! She behaved while awake and slept through the sermon. She thoroughly enjoyed the choir’s rendition of Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus at the end of the service, proof she is a Pinder after all! Pictures here.

We also dyed and hid eggs and made Easter baskets for the kids. We read the resurrection story out of John and explained to Tru that Easter eggs represent life. Baby chickens come out of their eggs alive just like Jesus came out of his grave alive. We also gave Tru a LeapFrog Leapster game system for Easter. We weren’t planning on getting her such a big gift, but we got it on sale at Target. She loves it.

My birthday is today. I’m 27 years old. We celebrated with some friends last Saturday at Surin of Thailand in Huntsville. It was a wonderful evening full of food and friendship! Mike got me a brand new laptop battery for my laptop, which seriously needed replacing! My laptop is actually portable now. Previously, my battery life was only about 30 minutes. I should get at least an hour and a half off of this new one. Tru got me some very pretty jewelry. We had a crockpot roast for dinner and a delectable chocolate Snickers birthday cake. YUM.

Heidi turned 8 months old today! It’s hard to believe that she’s getting so old. She’s just beginning to show some interest in crawling, and she’s becoming much more personable and interactive. A couple of days ago, I was using my computer with Heidi standing in my lap. I was looking around her at the computer screen. (Shameful, I know.) She leaned her whole body over to position her face between mine and the screen, forcing me to may eye contact with her! It was the sweetest, cutest thing she’s done yet. She’s also much more interested in her toys and in interacting with Tru. Tru loves to entertain her little sister. She sings and claps with Heidi and shares her toys with her, too. Heidi loves watching Tru play!

Here are some videos that we’ve taken recently. We have a tiny little video camera called a Flip that Tru loves to play with. She took some of these videos herself using the Flip! We have one that Tru took of Heidi walking down the hallway (at not even 8 months old!), a video of Tru and Heidi watching home movies from when Tru was about 18 months old, a video of Tru showing off her GeoTrax train set, and a video of Tru’s 4th birthday party. As a group, we (Sean, Matt and Danielle, Mike O, Susie and Mike, John and Candice, Troy, and Erin and I) took Mike V and Dana out for dinner. We went to Flamingos, which is a new Mexican restaurant in town. I was very impressed! It was much different than the other Mexican places in town. The food was unique, good presentation, and very tastle. I give it 4.5/5 stars.

Happy birthday to my bunny, Erin!

Added by Erin: Mike got me a really great leather computer chair for my birthday! I had a really cheap teeny cloth-upholstered one with no armrests and now I’m practically typing from a La-Z-Boy!! I love it!
